Is Blogging Good For My Cake Business?

If you have ever thought about blogging or thought what exactly is blogging.

Having a blog is essentially a marketing tool.

But having a blog doesn’t mean you will be an overnight sensation or having a lot of adverts and being able to buy a house in Banana island. Like any other form of marketing, it will take time to start seeing a benefit to it and to grow your audience. In fact it takes a lot of TIME.

There are a number of benefits to blogging including improving your Google ranking (which means people will be able to find you easier on Google), giving you another platform to share things on, and helping you get more customers.

Having a Blog can be quite effective for your cake business and abroad there are a lot of cake bloggers who earn good money by blogging.

For those that want to start a blog for their cake business, here are a few things to keep in mind:

Maintaining a blog is not that hard

As you know I have a blog (I mean this is a blog you are reading) that I send out weekly to all my subscribers. I do not write every day, and other people do not write for me. I write from the heart, and having a blog does not necessary take a lot of my time.. But having a blog is great, because it gives me exposure; I get to engage with new people each time I send out a blog post. So it is good for my business

But remember Static websites don’t attract many new clients or customers. But a regularly updated blog can produce a constant stream of people around the world.

When you publish good blog posts that help potential customers solve their problems, they come to trust you and respect you as an expert in the field.

It is a Great Marketing Tool

The main purpose of having a blog is that it is a great marketing tool. Also if you keep on it consistently, you will start to see results. You can even measure the reach of your blog through Google Analytics so you can know how many people read your blog.

You don’t have to be a good writer

Your Blog content does not need to be perfect, but it does need to be relevant and engaging to your target customer.  Just pick a topic and write about it. It does not have to be a long post (people are not really keen on long posts). Just make sure it is personal to you, engaging, interesting and educative.

You can build our own network

A blog is also a good platform for reaching out to others. having a blog is a guaranteed way to expand your network. Educating and interesting blog posts attract readers who may want to comment on your site.

You can schedule your posts

One of the great benefits to blogging is that you can time the posts so it can be published and sent out the day you want.

So if you can dedicate one day where you can write like 5 articles and then schedule it so I can be sent out weekly , so you don’t have to be thinking of topics each week. Also with a blog, it just not have to be only be sent to your subscribers, it can be shared on all social media platforms such as Facebook, twitter and so on.

You can also reuse that blog post that you have published again and again. If you don’t feel like thinking of a topic or can’t think of anything new to write, you can just repost a blog post that you have done before and share it on social media.

Blogging for your cake business is all about finding a way to help others, and to inspire. You will soon be seen as an expert in your field, communicate with your customers and fans, letting your target audience an inside look into your life and your business and a good way to market your business.

So if you are thinking on getting started on blogging. Here are some topics to get you started:

  • Cake picture of the week – a picture of your favourite cake you made with a short story
  • Behind the scenes look – some pictures of you working on a cake with a story of what is happening
  • An educative “how to do” post
  • You can interview another baker
  • A post about any promo you are doing
  • A short picture tutorial like how to made a fondant rose
  • A recipe you do not mind sharing (preferably not one that you use to sell your product.)
  • A Vblog which is a short video blog (a video of you making a cake or decorating a cake)
