5 ways to be booked solid in advance with cake orders

Easy Guide to Get Sales in your Cake Business

This past week I held some one to one coaching sessions with some of you that registered.

I got so much requests for coaching sessions that it was quite overwhelming. There  was a limit to the number of people I could personally coach, so I apologise if you registered for one and I could not get to you.

I plan to do another round in another few weeks, so look out for that.

One common thread with many of you when I was holding the coaching session was that you were finding it difficult to sell your cakes. In other words, Marketing is a challenge for many.

Marketing is the only way you can make the sales.

Marketing is the only way you can make the money you want in your business.

During my coaching session, I kept hearing the same story.

Abi asked ‘How do I source customers’, Dami was confused on ‘how to create awareness for my products’, Funola asked‘ how do I make sales’ and Omo was like, ‘ how do I get orders from people around me’.

The questions were all different but all dealt on selling.

So this week I want to disclose to you some of my answers I revealed to them in my coaching sessions.

Baking Business School, Rotimicakelady

There are opportunities all around you

Your customers are everywhere. You might not believe it right now. But your next customer is among the people around you.

Look are areas and people around your locality where you can market your business.

Do you live near schools, a university, offices, churches. Even though you are a shy person or don’t have friends, start with what you have.

Do you have a child in school? Start form there. Ask to sponsor their next PTA event with some nicely decorated cupcakes. Schools are a great source of customers because that is where your target customers are- which are mothers,.

At such events, you don’t just drop your cupcakes and leave. Market yourself. Go to people and ask them if they liked the cupcakes, tell them you are avaliable to make various baked good for their occasions and of course give them your business cards.

When you do this continually for like 2-3 events at the school. You will see that your brand reach will be increasing and eventually you will get more sales.

This same strategy also applies to places like churches and offices. Provide a  few free samples and talk about your business. Do this and watch the orders come in.

Baking Business School, Rotimicakelady

Brand yourself

Branding is very important. We want people to associate you with cake. So how do you do this?

As you go about your daily activities, like while dropping your children at school, going to the market, making a delivery, wear a branded t-shirt of your business.

You can buy different coloured t-shirts from the market. Then find someone to print your logo on the t-shirts. You can even print funny slogans on some of the t-shirts like ‘ Want cake, call me’, ‘a party without cake is just a meeting’; ‘you can’t buy happiness but you can buy cake’.

When you do this, you may not notice it but people are watching. Your brand is registering in their heads subconsciously. So do not be shy about using yourself to advertise your busines.

Baking Business School, Rotimicakelady

Have a cake party

One strategy I told a member in one of my coaching sessions was the idea of having a cake party.

She mentioned to me that she lived near a polytechnic. I told her she could have a lot of business from the students. I told her that if she knew one person who lived in a hostel she could have a cake party where she will offer free samples of her cakes, pastries and other baked goods to the students.

She could print flyers to distribute to students inviting them to sample free cake. At the party, students will have a chance to sample her products, she can have one on one conversation with them. She can then distribute her menu of items or her business cards to those that attended.

The wonderful thing is that you have all your target customers in one room, so this is the most excellent opportunity for you to project the best version of your business and to market to your ideal clients.

Baking Business School, Rotimicakelady

Use a Broadcasting system

Lastly let me give you a bonus strategy for getting more customers. In one session, a lady informed me that she gets a lot of repeat customers. I told her that was good and she should capitalise on that.

She should create a database of those customers and send them periodic emails or texts. She should also contact them before a person’s birthday in their household and ask them to book a cake for a special price offer.

Another strategy I spoke about was to encourage her current customers to refer her business. She could start a campaign by sending out a message to her current customer base saying that if their friends orders a cake from you,  they will get a free box of cupcakes.

These are just a few strategies I discussed in my coaching session. Of course these strategies are just a snippet of what you will learn in the ultimate marketing course you can get for cake business owners.

How To Make Your Cake Business Stand Out From The Crowd (Vol II)

I did a post on this topic some time back. You can read it here. But I still get a lot of emails from bakers asking how they are able to create a niche for themselves. So that is why i decided to revisit  and expand this post and add some more tips on how you can make your cake  business stand out from the numerous bakers out there.

1. Know your Brand

A strong brand will help your customers remember you.  Branding is not just about your logo or the colours you use or how your website is, it also translates to how you treat your customers and how you portray your business.

2 Give great  customer service always

They say in Nigeria, we don’t know about customers service. How may times have you been to an eatry or a supermarket and the workers don’t smile and if you ask for their help, it is like you are disturbing them.

So be an exception to the rule. No matter how you feel, give great customer service. Answer your work phone with a smile, listen to the customers. Yes, you will come across some customers that are demanding, or even rude. But, ultimately, the relationship you have with your customers is what’s going to keep them coming back for more.

So go the extra mile for your customers. They are paying you after all.

sv60

3. Create a Niche for yourself

Think about where you position yourself in the industry. Are you good at making novelty cakes, or wedding cakes or fat free cakes. Do you only use a special type of ingredient that makes your cakes so scrumptious? Think about something that makes you unique form others and use that feature to market your business. Think about what you want to be known for? For example, you could be known for making awesome cupcakes and call yourself the Cupcake Queen.

4. Make them an offer they cannot refuse

Make an offer to our customers that will make them come back for more. You could do a special deal on pastries, cupcakes or a special discount for birthday cakes.

sv61

5. Offer something of value

It is worth offering something extra to your customers. It does not have to cost you a lot of money to do this. You can just simply give existing customers a discount off their next order,  or maybe give them free delivery or you can give a free birthday card with every birthday cake? Little things like this will  can ensure that your customers keep coming back to order from you again.

6. Have Social media skills

Your business needs to be online. Use your website and social media to your advantage. Engage with your customers on social media.

If you aren’t confident with on how you can market effectively using social media – fear not! Join the waiting list here to be part of a Course to teach you how to market, price, plan and sell your cakes.

7. Market what makes you different

Whatever makes you unique of different from the others, don’t just keep it to yourself. Shout it loud. Tell this to all you potential and existing customers. The only way you can stand out from the crowd is telling your customers so.

sv62

8. Try something different

Why don’t you be different from the norm. Expand your product line and do different type of cake designs. Do something that is totally different from what is out there. And when you do market it superbly on social media.

9. Enter cake competitions

This is a great exposure for your brand, and you don’t have to win. Just need to enter. When you enter cake competitions, there is always press and you can take pictures for your website. So this will show people that you are a serious cake business owner and your brand can sky rocket. It will also help you to improve your networking and presentation skills.

If you are struggling with getting customers for their cakes, I have designed an online course that will solve this problem by showing you how to market, sell, price, plan, structure and brand your business so you are constantly selling to the right people who want your cakes.

I know selling your cakes is a major struggle for most bakers, so this November I will be launching an Online Course that will show you how to sell your cakes so that at least you can earn some money for Christmas.

How To Get People To Buy Your Cakes

In order for your cake business to thrive, you need to find the right customers for your business.

Selling to the appropriate customers may be obvious, but many cake business owners struggle to find the right way to convert potentials or people who enquire about your cakes to customers.

Identifying customer buying habits is an essential part of marketing and growing your business. So, how do you figure out why customers buy your cakes?

This blogpost aims to explain customer buying habits to help you figure out why people buy cakes and how you can get them to buy your delicious treats.

By examining the buying habits of your customers, you’ll be better able to build a marketing plan that taps into the buying habits of your target customer which would eventually drive more sales.

So how do you do this?

You have to know how to make them buy from you

The psychology in this are called marketing triggers and i will tell you the emotional marketing triggers that determine why people buy cakes.

Emotional Marketing Triggers that Determine Why We Buy Cakes

When you understand the marketing triggers that make people buy then you can sell more. And you can find more eager customers.

Our emotions trigger us to buy

Don’t make the mistake thinking that people buy what they need. People buy what they want.  We are driven by their emotions.

If you understand the emotional reasons why your customers buy cakes then you can begin to trigger these emotions when you are talking to your customers or when you are marketing your cakes.

sp102

1. Love

What do your customers love? It might include their family, children, business, career, culture, hobbies, books, personal time etc. Do they buy from you for one of these loves? If so how can you recognize and encourage others with the same love?

Love is a powerful emotion. We do strange things when in love and in the name of love. People will shower their loved ones with beautiful and expensive gifts.  So you can use love to sell your cakes, like during vals day or birthday cakes for loved ones.

2. To show off

Yes we all should be humble, but sometimes people wanting to show off can be good for your business. Some people like to throw elaborate parties and the reason they do this is to show people their wealth, their home, etc. So you can tap into that if you do over the top , extraordinary and elaborate cakes that no one else does. So your cakes can cater to these sort of people.

sp104
3. Guilt

Often it might be hard to know the real reason someone buys something for someone or gives a gift. Was it love or guilt? “Is guilt the real reason behind spending a lot of money on Christmas, Valentines and Mothers’ Day?”

Can the guilt of not buying motivate your potential customer into buying your cakes? Can you use guilt to sell your cakes? Like saying in your marketing campaign something like ‘when was the last time you bought your precious wife or mum a gift, someone who has loved you and nurtured you,  then buy your mother a mother’s day cake or this lovely cake’.

There are also other  emotional triggers like Fear, greed and pride, but i don’t think they relate to selling cakes much

So I hope i have given you some ideas in your marketing campaigns.

Marketing is only effective if it reaches the right people.

Identifying the things that influence buying decisions enables you to leverage these factors to reach more customers.  Once you understand all these, you will be more successful when you market and sell to potential customers.

I will love to hear from you. How do you think you can use these emotional triggers to help you in your cake business?

Please share this post to your fellow bakers. I am sure they will get tremendous benefit from this information.

How To Get More Cake Orders

Today we are talking about how to get more cake orders for your cakes. I mean this is the way how you are going to make money.

Simple-Tell your friends and family that you are taking cake orders

If you want more cake orders. Then you have to tell people. A good way to start is with your family and friends.

Ask them do they have a birthday or celebration coming up to get them to order from you!

Note – Because they are family, don’t let them bully you in baking for free or for a low price!  You are in business. However, you can give them something free such as some cupcakes.

pp45

Share on your Facebook Business Page

If you have a Facebook business page. Share on your Page that you are taking cake orders!  Here’s a good example:

” Bose Cake and Bakes are now taking your cake orders. Do you have a birthday or party coming up? Order Now and get a 6 cupcakes free (on orders over N20,000)”.

If you feel you are not getting enough reach, why don’t you boost your Ad. For just $5, your advert will be seen by a whole lot more people. So give it a try (make sure you add a nice picture and your contact details).

 Facebook Groups

This is another way to advertise on Facebook. You can advertise your cakes on other groups. Look around for Facebook Groups where your ideal client hangs out and join those groups and talk about your business.

To go one step higher, you can offer an incentive for them so that they can come over to your own business Facebook page to place an order.

Note – some Facebook Groups do not allow advertisements, so check out the groups rules and regulations so that you do not get kicked out of the group.

t5

 Share with your Email Contacts

Create a pretty newsletter and send it to everyone on your email list.
And you can say something like this:

” Hello, I have a free gift for you. Order your cakes at Bose Cakes and Bakes and get a free box of cupcakes (on orders over N20,000)”.

Sell Your Cakes in Churches /Schools /Food Fairs

You do not have to wait at home for an order. You can go out and sell your cakes. Your church is a good starting point. Also schools during their PTA or sports day is really good. Here you will be able to personally tell people about your cake business, they can sample the cakes you have to offer and they can also buy or order from the spot from you.

So do not be shy, approach churches and schools around your area and ask if you can sell your products at their premises.

Note – make sure you have business cards to give out.

So those are some ideas you can try out this week, to boost your sales. I will love to hear about your experience. So comment below to tell me how it goes or if you want to ask me any cake business question.

5 things you should know before Starting a Cake Business from Home

Not only will you have to deal with baking, but there is a lot of administrative work that you will have to deal with too. Frankly an average one man cakepreneur spends about 70% behind the the laptop, shopping for ingredients, drawing designs, talking to customers, marketing, and only 30% actually making cakes.

Here are my top 5 things  you should know before starting a cake business from home:

 1. Your Kitchen/ Cake Work Area

Your kitchen or cake area doesn’t have to be perfect, but it does have a certain level of standard. One of the most important things you should do before embarking on your new career is to ensure that your cake work area is clean. In other countries, there are usually kitchen health inspections embarked by the local council who will give you a rating score before you can start a business, but I don’t think we have anything like that in Nigeria. But nevertheless you should ensure that you maintain a high standard of cleanliness. Your reputation depends on this and most importantly it ensures the safety of your future customers.

 2. Registration

If you are just baking occasionally for a few family and friends and don’t charge for your cakes or maybe you just charge just for the cost of the ingredients. This is just a hobby in the eye of the law. If, however, it is done regularly and even a small profit is made, you are considered a business and by this point a lot of things should happen. Namely, you will have to register your business with the Corporate Affairs Commission to make it legal, file financials at the end of the year and also since you are now making money you must declare your income with the tax authorities.

3. How Much Should I Charge?

One thing you may have to realize in starting a cake business is that it may be a slow process before you make any substantial money to enable it be your full time career.  This may sound a bit depressing but it’s worth knowing what you are getting into. One of the main reasons for this is not charging enough for my cakes (You can read more about this in my article here) and nor having a business plan in place.

It may be butter and sugar but you need to treat it with the same respect as you do any other business. It’s a fun hobby but when it comes to turning it into a business there’s so much more you need to think about than just figurines.

4. Show them whose boss

When you calculate how much you want to charge, it won’t be in everyone’s budget – and that’s fine. You will get customers that compare your hours of work to a a commercial brand but you cannot take it to heart. I know its hard because you may feel it’s a reflection on you and your work but it isn’t. There will be customers who ask you to make a 3 tiered cake with handmade models for the next day. Me and you know that is impossible but to a customer they may say that ‘it is just cake’. You will have to let them down gently and say no. You have to learn how to say No. Believe me this will prevent a lot of frustration as you could end up with taking up so much orders because you are afraid to turn a customer down.

This is your business. You have to put you and your family first and don’t let negative comments get to you or bring you down. We’ve all had them, you need to keep your head up and rise above it.

5. Life of a Cake business owner

I think the most important thing to know before starting a cake business from home, is that when you do, you will have one of the best jobs in the world. You are part of so many special occasions, you make so many people smile, your decorating skills and bakes will bring joy to many people, and that is really something to be proud of. There will be long days and even longer nights and you will see that you will need a bigger storage space to keep all your new cake equipment. You will see yourself going to cake shops and the markets to buy that one cutter.

Being a cake business owner is it really is an great job and is one that I am sure you will enjoy.

Just know that your worst day as a cake decorator and running your own cake business may be better than the best day in your previous job.

This Is Why Your Cake Business Is Failing (and what you can do about it)

It’s quite disheartening when your cake business is slow, isn’t it? We start to feel like a failure, like this business was a bad idea, like the competition is taking away all the customers away from us.

Believe me I understand how you feel. There are many a times when i ask myself if i made the right decision in resigning from my job and venturing into this wonderful world of cakes.

There would be weeks when i didn’t have a single order and when i do i will be doubting my cake skills wondering if i am able to create the cake the customer wants.

But one thing i will tell you for free. It will get better, so please do not give up.

But you need to do some work and look at your business if you want to improve your sales.

The first thing you do is to look at your past track record. You either got a few or plenty of orders in the past, If you used to get plenty orders, what did you do? You need to trace your patterns.

However, you need to realize that what worked so well in the past may not work as well now because:

1) There are more bakers out there doing what we do on those same platforms,

 2) It’s much harder to reach your potential customers through Facebook unless you use paid Ad’s, and

3) You are still doing the same old thing, even though the cake industry have changed significantly.

If your orders are few and far between means that you may have not done much in the way of marketing your business. Like what platforms do you use to market your cakes or to tell people about your cakes?

pp66

So if you are suffering from low sales, you need to as yourself  3 important questions:

  1. How can i do to stand out from the competition: What makes your cake business stand out from the other bakers out there?
  2. What can you do to get new customers: How would someone who wants the type and the taste of your cakes you offer even know you exist in the first place? How do these people find you?
  3. How do you keep your current customers: You need to think how to remind your customers that you are always there for them, how can you always remind them to always remember you when they need a cake. Think back, do you get repeat custom, or do people order from you and then forget about you because they never hear from you again?

Once you’ve thought and answered these questions. It’s time to get it out there and MARKET, MARKET, MARKET that cake business of yours.

You have to realise that as your business grows and changes, your marketing should be growing and changing too  because the business of marketing is constantly evolving.

Yes, we love to make Cake but forget that we need to sell it in order to sustain a profitable and successful business, and although you may think that marketing makes you look a bit desperate, it doesn’t have to be that way!

THINK OF MARKETING AS A MEANS FOR YOU TO GET YOUR BUSINESS OUT THERE TO THE PEOPLE THAT MATTER

You might also want to have a look at this awesome Course called ‘The Ultimate Guide to Marketing your Cake Business’ – This Course is ideal and will give you a boost forward to get your business back on track if you have been having low sales.

How to make your Cake Business stand out from the crowd

We are already in June already. Imagine. Half year!

How are you feeling about it?

Are you scared, apprehensive or joyful?

I have mixed feelings because yes i have achieved  some goals i set myself at the beginning of the year, but there are still a number of goals that i am yet to do or even get started.

Sometimes i ask myself if i am able to achieve it or if it is even possible. I set myself a money goal, but  at times i go through periods where i doubt myself and ask myself if it is possible especially when those unexpected expenses come eating into my income.

But i know God has my back and i will keep on keeping on.

So for those who are still wondering how they are going to make their income goal through their cake sales, here are a few ideas to make your cake business stand out.

1. Know your brand

A strong brand will help your customers remember you.  Branding is not just about your logo or the colours you use or how your website is, it also translates to how you treat your customers and how you portray your business.

2. Give great  customer service always

How to Know what type of cakes to sell so you are always making money

d80

So, you want to start a cake business?

Fantastic – but unfortunately so does almost every other baker who loves to bake. How are you going to stand out? How will you succeed even when there are other already established bakers to compete with? How will you get your own customer base and following?

Well the answer to that is:

Find your baking niche

Just as with every other business whether product or service based, you need your unique selling point. In other words –– you need to find your niche. The thing that makes you exclusively you and your cakes exclusively yours.

For some people, finding a niche is simple. They already have one key strength, one driving passion and they go with it, whether that’s for edible art, fondant cakes or custom birthday cakes or desserts.

But what if it’s not that easy for you? You’ve done a few cake decorating classes, made a mixture of buttercream and fondant, cake and cupcakes – how should you know what you should focus on? And even then, how should you know whether people will want to buy it anyway?

These worries are completely normal, so today I’ve put together a few things to consider when finding your baking niche to help you follow your heart and have the baking business of your dreams.

d81

1. Where do your strengths lie?

It’s usually a good idea to play to your strengths. If you make amazing piped buttercream cupcakes, then why not start off selling cupcakes at events? If you’re great with fondant, why not offer more traditional celebration cakes to start with? If you start out strong, you’ll set yourself up well and can branch out into other baking styles as and when you or your customers wish.

2. What are your competitors doing?

This question works in 2 ways. Firstly, knowing what your competitors are selling a lot of tells you a bit about the demand in your local area. Are people buying tons of Christmas and seasonal cakes? What about the new trend for naked cakes? Or are you getting more cupcake orders? This is what good market research is for

Secondly, although you know where some demand now lies, you need to find a way to set yourself apart. Don’t necessarily offer what your competitors do just because you know it’s selling. There might not be enough demand to sustain several similar cake businesses and you need to set yourself apart from the other crowd of bakers, so use the information to work out your own specific style and cake baking niche.

d84

3. What is the demographic of your local or delivery area?

Where do you live? Knowing who your ideal customer or target market are is essential when designing your cake products and pricing them. If you’re catering to a community of young business men and women, the types of cakes they’ll want might differ to a smaller area with families.

Likewise, the occupation, disposable income, age and interests of your ideal customer can all influence what type of cakes they will want to buy. Make sure the cakes you want to sell meet the needs of your ideal customer.

4. What do you love to do?

As well as playing to your strengths, I believe it’s important to do what you are passionate about. If your passion is in your cakes, people will know and appreciate the effort, attention to detail and love that you put into each order. It makes a difference.

So if you’re good at sugarcraft but find it tedious and prefer naked or fruit or dessert cakes consider including them in your cake portfolio. You need passion, skills and demand to be successful, so make sure you love what you do.

d82

5. Is there anything people comment on that you do differently?

When you’re baking regularly, it’s easy to fall into a pattern of thinking what you do is normal or typical or average. It’s easy to be overly modest and undervalue your skills, experience and expertise. Friends and family who see and taste your cakes can be really helpful at this point because they can help you see the things that make your cakes uniquely yours. Do they notice a certain flair for decorating? Some extra amazing and unusual flavours? No design is too intricate? Other people can help you realise what it is that makes your cakes special, an important selling point for your cake business that can guide your choice of niche.

Take some time out to work through these five points with examples from your own experience, then comment below with what your baking niche will be! Still not sure? That’s okay too, comment below and let me help you out!

How can I Improve my Cake Sales?

Everyone loves cake, well at least most people do. You might think that because 85% of the population loves cakes, you may not have any issue selling your cakes. But as you and i know it is not as easy as that when Selling in business.

if you get 1 or 2 people order from you a week. That’s good at the beginning, but it is not going to help you to sustain your business. You need a larger customer bases.

So in order to expand your customer base, i am going to show you a few good ideas to make more money selling cakes.

t7Try Selling Wholesale

So one great tip for growing your business and making more money apart from custom orders is to try and venture into the wholesale business.

How do you do this?

Look through your friends list and contact those caterers or those who own restaurants, cafe’s or supermarket or even Buka’s and offer your products. If you are able to secure an order, is a very good way to get your product out to the public and increase sales.

But do a bit of research before you book an appointment for your sales pitch, find out what they are selling and the price range of their products. You don;t want to price yourself out of the market. Also find out what your competitors are selling and their prices so you will have a idea how much to sell your baked goods.

o74Social Media

Having your business online is a must. If you don’t. Create one NOW.

Create a website and social media page for your business and posts pictures of your cakes. Make your website very visual and  let people know how they can order from you. Also on your website have an Opt In page to collect email address of those that visit your website. once you have that information, you can now send weekly or monthly emails showing them your specials and discounts.

a2Give out Samples of your cakes

If you have a Cake Shop. Lucky you! How do you get more customers to your door?

Try and look for inventive and creative ways to get customers into your shop such as offering free samples to passersby. People are more likely to purchase whatever you are sampling if they taste and look good and are available immediately for purchase.

c35Branch Out

Just don’t think you should be selling cakes to make money.

Why don’t you sell your skills.

You could open your home and offer baking and cake decorating classes. Not only will you be adding value, but you will gain more exposure for your brand, your students will be able to purchase good that you are selling in your store and  now you have added another stream of income to your business

With these marketing techniques you  are sure to be on your way to getting your cake business name out in the public and draw more customers thereby improving your sales and profits.

Are there any more marketing tips I didn’t mention? Comment below if you think of any.

Happy Caking.

Sell Your Cakes at Events

It is important to have many ways of selling your cakes. Church fairs, schools come highly recommend, as this is where your target customers frequents. And don’t forget to go with your business cards and give out samples.

Get a Website

A website is a must for your cake business. Having your own website makes you and your business more professional, creates inquiries and orders and ultimately makes you money, which is your end goal.

You can create a website by yourself. There are a number of free websites that can have you online in just a day. With a website, it will give an opportunity for customers to see pictures of your cakes and to get enquirers.

In addition, a website address is an essential to be able to put onto your business cards, flyers and other marketing materials.  So, this means, you will need to have a website address at the point of ordering your business cards.

Also with a website, you can connect with your current customers by way of weekly email newsletters where you will be able to share your recent cake pictures  or promos

 Be an expert

Set yourself as an expert. Are you good at wedding cakes or character cakes, You can display this knowledge by blogging, submitting articles, or sharing your work and content on social media or simply by posting videos on Facebook.

You can also submit recipes, tutorials and cakes to magazines for articles.. Just know that your cake pictures must be of good quality to get featured in magazines. You can enquire via email and social media about being featured in a publication and always follow up if you do not hear a reply.

I’m telling you if you persevere with this strategy and you become the go-to person for a particular skill, the sky is the limit.

Attract Success and you will be successful

What type of business do you want? Write it down and then mirror the business you want to build.

We are all attracted to success.  Do not wait for an order to make a cake or to post a cake on your social media page.  This will give the impression that you are in high demand and people would be vying for your attention.  Not only is this a good way of practicing your cake techniques, it will help you build your own portfolio.

 t8

Offer cake decorating classes

If you need extra cash and to gain more recognition, why don’t you start offering cake decorating classes for both  adults and children.

This is a good way to be seen as an expert and of course because of that people will want to order from you.

Follow up

Follow up, Follow up Follow up. When you get an inquiry and you do not hear from them, it is very okay to call them back to see if they want to go ahead with the order. Sometimes people just forget and with you making yourself available can make them want to go ahead with the order.

Join Facebook Groups

Where do your target customers hang out on Facebook. Find out and join. Be social and post pictures of cakes you have made. This way you will gain visibility.

Some of these tips will require you to be brave and confident in your product because you are reaching out to a wider audience.  So be professional in dealing with people and ensure that your business is well organized.

Till next week.
