Christmas Chocolate Cake Recipe

200 gm Dark chocolate (Lindt dark chocolate is a good brand)

200 gm butter

150 gm self raising flour ( you can use plain flour, but don’t forget to add baking powder)

200 gm sugar

3 eggs

118 ml water

1 tablespoon Cocoa powder

1 tsp vanilla essence

  • Preheat oven to 165C;
  • Melt butter in a pan in low heat, then add water, sugar, cocoa powder and the chocolate and stir until smooth and leave to cool for about 15 mins;
  • Whisk the eggs and vanilla essence, then add the flour and the chocolate mixture
  • Mix at low speed until all the mixture is incorporated. (the mixture will be a bit watery, don’t worry about this);
  • Pour mixture into baking tins and bake for 45 mins or until it is evenly cooked.
