Sugar Syrup Recipe


  • Sugar
  • Water
  • Any flavour (vanilla essence for example)


  1. Basic sugar syrup is 1 part sugar and 1 part water. For example that is 1 cup sugar and 1 cup water.
  2. Add this into a saucepan with vanilla, and simmer (to almost boil) for 10 minutes, to thicken it.
  3. Being careful to thicken the water slightly and not to turn into toffee.
  4. Drizzle or brush sugar syrup on cake
